NaNoWriMo Junior - NEW!

November is National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. I'm going to go for it this year, try meeting the 50K word challenge. When I went to the NaNoWriMo site, I saw there's also a NaNoWriMo Junior challenge too, for kids 12 & under. Sasha said she'd do it, write 30K words, if I get her a year's subscription to Neopets Premium (whatever that is). I said, "Sure! You meet the challenge & I'd be happy to." Who would argue against a slight incentive for their kid writing a novel? It meant averaging 1,000 words a day, about 4 pages, for 30 days. As soon as Sasha decided to do it, she sat down and wrote 8 pages in one sitting., the next night 7 pages. And the writing was beautiful! Detailed, suspenseful, with great characters and dialogue, riveting conflict. Damn if that isn't going to give me writer's block!
